Hey & welcome, it could be the carb, Webers are known for issues. Is it running rich when the Jeep is at an angle like when climbing a hill etc?
If so they make a wedge that goes under it that helps some.

Another thing to check is the coil. When it runs bad check to see how hot the coil is, hot = bad for a coil.

Give the rig a good tune up and check the following while doing it. Are the plugs fouled from running to rich, lean. Make sure the distributor cap is clamped or screwed on and not flopping around. As above check to make sure the coil is not over heating when running. I would also look closely at the carb and evaluate if it worth rebuilding. The 4.2L I6 engines had fuel delivery issues with the factory carbs and the webers are one of the most common carbs to be swapped onto the rig. Try adjusting the the fuel air mixture(make sure it does not go lean). It might be time to rebuild the carb or replace.
